It's week 2 of my Design Tips & Tricks series and this week we are talking about throw pillows! There is one simple trick I use to get that nice, full pillow that you see in the styled spaces and I am sharing it today! Plus, my favorite places to buy inserts!
Do you ever wonder how the interior stylists throw pillows always look perfectly full and have that nice V-chop? And your pillows may be coming up a little flat? I have a simple little trick I use whenever I am stuffing a new pillow cover. Say for example, you have a 20x20 pillow cover and you need an insert for it. Instead of buying a 20x20 insert, you should go up 2" in size and buy a 22x22 insert. That will ensure a nice, full looking pillow and all 4 corners should fit nicely into the cover. And you will get that nice designer looking V-chop! I guarantee you will notice a difference!
I have a few places I love buying really nice inserts at that won't fall flat after continued use! You can certainly shop online at places such as Wayfair and Amazon, but I love shopping at my local Crate & Barrel store. They always have a wide variety of sizes and blends in stock such as feather and down! And they are all reasonably priced! Shop pillow inserts here.
I hope this simple tricks helps and you can use this same trick for any size throw pillow! So an 18x18 cover would use a 20x20 insert and so forth! Next week, on design tips & tricks we are talking all about hanging curtains!
