Making an Entrance with Little Joy Market

10/25/2017

This is a collaborated post with Little Joy Market. As always, thank you for supporting my blog!
After adding the board & batten to our entryway, it was certainly missing something! I honestly didn't know quite what and tried a few different things like a mirror and a painting I had snagged at Home Goods. I honestly didn't like any of the choices I was coming home with and wanted something with meaning and more personal to our family.

I am so grateful to have found Jeanne of Little Joy Market through Instagram. We connected on there via a mutual friend and she patiently worked with me on designing and creating a special sign for our home. I had a ton of quotes written down and thought about what I wanted our sign to really say and what it could mean for all who entered our home. Handy hubby worked with me on it and after a few brainstorming sessions we came up with, "Always know the road that leads you home". It really is a message to our 3 kids and as they get older and venture out into the "real" world may they never forget the road that leads them back here, back to this special place we now called home. The place we have poured our hands and hearts into...

It could not be more perfect for our home and main entrance and the fact that Jeanne did this all by HAND is just amazing. It truly is a work of art. What makes it even more special is that we framed it in tobacco sticks from TN, our second home. I had picked these up at the Nashville Flea Market over the summer and knew I would need them for a special project one day. This certainly was it!

I love the way it all came together and even more that the sign has meaning to our whole family. It is a piece I will treasure for many years to come!
