Summer is upon us which means family gatherings and summer barbecues are getting underway. I am sharing a quick and easy appetizer that is oh so delish! The basil even came from my indoor herb garden! You can definitely alter these caprese bites anyway you like and make a few or enough to feed a large crowd.
I picked up a container of bite sized cherry tomatoes and cut them each in half. Then stacked them on top of the fresh basil leaf. I then topped it with a small mozzarella ball I got from my local grocery store. Then secured it all with a toothpick. You can drizzle each with olive oil and sprinkle with some salt for some added flavor. And how sweet is this mason jar toothpick holder from Westhaven and Company? It was the perfect complement to my appetizer tray, a wooden cutting board from Home Goods.
I could honestly eat a hundred of these they are so tasty! Cheers to summer!
