Can y'all believe that Thanksgiving is two weeks away? We are hosting not only for the first time in our new home, but for the first time EVER! I am a bit nervous and hope I can pull it all off as I am cooking everything so to keep my mind from going crazy, I decided to get my tablescape out of the way and am sharing with you today! I am keeping things simple and nothing fancy!
After almost a year, I FINALLY got dining room chairs! And boy, did I luck out! We recently got a Restoration Hardware Outlet down the street and I popped in there one day and it was like fate! They had 6 of the most perfect chairs for our dining room and they were all in excellent condition. Two trips to the store later and they fit perfectly around my dining table and I could finally check another thing off my list! Here's a picture of our dining room! I just love how its casual, yet still a bit more formal than our everyday table.
For Thanksgiving, I placed 3 pumpkins smack down the center of the table. And that was it! I wanted to keep it simple and not add any height to the table so everyone can easily see each other and converse over dinner.
Instead of using our formal china, I used simple, white dishes that I actually rented from a local party place! Don't judge! We are having 16 people and it was easy, cheap and all I have to do is rinse the dishes off and throw them back in the crate!
I placed a napkin in a neutral black and white stripe on top of the plate and topped each setting off with a mini pumpkin. It was simple, rustic and I loved the look it gave the whole table.
This is the adults table and I am excited to have a little fun with the kids table! How do y'all dress up your table for Thanksgiving? Do you keep things simple or go all out and fancy? I am counting down the days until we host our first big gathering! Wish me luck!
