I finally have one room in our house completely done that I am so excited to share! This space is visible right when you walk through our front doors so I wanted it to stay playful for the kids, but yet still remain stylish and flow with the rest of the house. Welcome to our playroom!
This room has a super high vaulted ceiling! So high in fact we had to rent a ladder from Home Depot to install this orb chandelier I snagged from Overstock. I wanted to pick a light fixture that was could transition when we eventually converted this room into a living room or office.
The walls are the same as the rest of our home, Alabaster by Sherwin Williams. I choose to keep the accent colors pretty gender neutral and went with navy and white. The stripe rug was a fun find from Joss & Main and adds a bright pop to the whole room.
The key to clean playroom is great organization. I picked up this storage unit from Ikea and it is perfect for storing all our toys and books. The blue bins and galvanized bins were finds from Walmart and give the room a more rustic, industrial feel.
Other accent pieces included a side chair from Ikea, a sweet little flokati stool from Hobby Lobby and the cutest sign from my sweet friend Becca of Charming Willows. The playroom may not look messy now, but we certainly need to "bless the mess" daily.
I honestly do love our playroom. It is the perfect space for the kids and the adults. You will often find my husband and I curled up in the chair with a cup of coffee watching the kids play or even sneaking away for a moment to ourselves. It goes to show you do not need to sacrifice design when you have kids and can easily create a stylish space everyone can enjoy!
