I am working my way around the kids rooms upstairs, getting them all painted and decorated before the summer. I truly love decorating but doing the kids rooms has been the most fun so far. I enjoy picking out the finishing touches with them and shopping for those little accents that make each of their rooms unique.
Today I am sharing my oldest daughter's desk makeover. She is about to turn 10 so on her way to the tween years! Boy, is time flying. I wanted to give her a space where she could sit and do homework, draw and journal, yet make it a space that she could grow up with. We are both in love with how the space came out.
The desk was my grandmother's and I did get permission to paint it. It was a dark brown color and we ended up painted it Alabaster by Sherwin Williams. I am not going to lie it was a pain to paint but I managed to get it down in one weekend.
We switched out the knobs for the sweetest gold ones shaped as bows from Anthropologie. My daughter actually picked them out!
To complete the desk, I found the memo board at Home Goods and the "Be You" sign is by Pillowfort from Target. The chair was a steal from the Restoration Hardware outlet. It was originally $400 and I scored it for $80!
It is amazing what a few coats of paint can do to a piece of furniture!
