It's the most wonderful time of the year! Can you believe that the Christmas season is here? Where did 2016 go? Now that Thanksgiving is behind me, I am ready to decorate our home for the holiday season! For the past few years, I have tried to get my hands on the galvanized tree collar from Crate & Barrel for our tree and without a doubt, this year included, I am always late to the game and they are sold out! I was determined this year to come up with a solution because I love the look and so I put my thinking cap on and tried to figure it out! And guess what! Success! I am going to share with you how I got the look for A LOT less!!!
I headed over to my new favorite store, Tractor Supply and found the perfect solution! Their 17 gallon galvanized bucket! It was only $20 in store!! Yes, $20!!!
Now I did read some tutorials, and most of them cut the bottom of the bucket out. I told handy hubby this and he looked at me with confusion...why? Why can't you just stick the tree stand right in it? Well thankfully, ours was a perfect fit so do check before purchasing. I will note that we have a pretty basic tree stand from Target.
See, a perfect fit! I may be sad in admitting this, but when we went out to buy our tree, I made sure the bottom had lots of branches near the trunk. I wanted to "hide" the tree stand as much as I could and it worked!
I have to say I am LOVING the look! And it has been so much easier to water the tree! No worries about water leaking on our precious hardwoods and cleaning up the pine needles has been a breeze! So if you want to add a bit of farmhouse charm to your Christmas tree AND for less, I highly recommend this solution! Merry, merry all!
