Tis the season for some fun! One of my favorite things to do for my kids is put together our family's advent calendar! Two years ago I ditched the store bought chocolate boxes and decided to get original and come up with my own calendar that was full of family activities and fun! The kids honestly LOVE it and look forward to it every year!
This year I used an old window pane I had picked up at the Nashville Flea Market over the summer. It was the perfect size for the calendar and added some rustic charm to our holiday decor.
I attached a string each of twine and red striped bakers twine to the back of each side of the window pane using heavy duty tape. The red chevron bags are from Hoopla Events and the green chevron ones are from MiniEllies. Each bag is filled with either candy or a printed card of our "activity" for that day such as family movie night, our town's tree lighting, etc.
The cards are a free printable I found online here and the advent calendar numbers were found here. Both you can print at home on your printer. I then attached each bag with a small clothespin and that is it!
Joyous kids each morning guaranteed and something pretty for your Christmas decor as well! Happy Holidays all!
