The list of projects around our house seem to never end, but maybe because I keep adding to them. For a while now I have wanted to add some interest to our entry hallway. Right now, it’s just pretty basic. I honestly don’t even have an piece of furntiture in the space. I have been begging and pleading handy hubby to add some board and batten, and over the weekend he surprised me with the materials after making a trip to Home Depot.
This project honestly cost us about $20 in wood and took less than an hour. Granted it is a short wall but the outcome was amazing. Wow! What a different some wood and paint can do to a space
We started by measuring the distance between the space. We wanted the vertical boards to be evenly spaced along the wall. We marked our halfway point and nailed the first board. *All our boards were 3.5” in width. Then we placed two more boards, one on either side of the middle board to create the vertical part of the board and batten.
Lastly, we cut on long board that would be placed on top going horizontally across.
And then that is it! We caulked and filled nailed holes and then painted it all in Alabaster in semi gloss by Sherwin Williams.
It definitely made an impact on the space and added dimension and interest. I found a cute bench at Home Goods and the besides some wall art needed, we have a new entryway! We hope to continue this up our stairwell within the next few months, so stay tuned!
Now that I got our kitchen stools, I feel like our kitchen is complete! They really make the space and finish it out so nicely. I love that the kids can sit and do homework or crafts and watch me cook. Our large island is the perfect gathering spot.
I know some people are very hesitant of doing an all white kitchen but I honestly love it! Our living space is one big open room so the white really brightens up the whole space and everything really flows together.
And I know, I am crazy for getting white marble, but I honestly love it and wouldn't have it any other way. Since ours is honed, you don't see the "mishaps" as much and after awhile they sort of blend in with each other.
One of my favorite things in our kitchen is the farmhouse sink. It is timeless, classic and is the perfect accent to any farmhouse kitchen.
I love the rug I picked up from Williams Sonoma. It ties all the grays and whites togethers and protects our wood floors from spills and water stains.
I hope you have enjoyed some peeks into our new kitchen! The kitchen truly is the heart of the home!
It happened people! The hunt for the perfect kitchen stools finally has come to an end. I have searched high and low because honestly, I had no clue what I really wanted. I was tempted to buy some upholstered one but in the end knew my kids would destroy them. I stalked our Restoration Hardware outlet almost weekly and finally decided on breaking down and buying the Remy stools to match our kitchen chairs.
I honestly hate to even admit how much I scored on these stools! I got them at our local RH outlet for only $33 each! It was crazy! And not a single thing wrong with them! They are more than perfect for our kitchen space and indestructible with the kids. I love, love them and I am so glad I waited it out!
